Fl, Cl, Vn, Vcl, Pno

These are two movements for chamber orchestra, and one of the last pieces I premiered at Longy. These movements were originally part of Five Stages of Grief, a five movement chamber piece with each movement named after a stage (I. Denial, II. Anger, III. Bargaining etc.) but a lack of chamber writing opportunities after graduating and a lack of sustaining interest in intense classical music led me to abandon the project.
Some abandoned projects get revitalized, however I don’t want to return to this one. There’s too many moving parts for each instrument, and I couldn’t figure out how to make each of the movements sound different from each other. Nevertheless, it was well received at Longy.
