From audiences:
“Paul William Keefe’s lyrics interweve Faith and Patriotism in such a beautiful way”
“This an incredible song, and it sounds just like Broadway.”
“Perfect for the Fourth of July. I’m waiting for this Composer to get his work heard on Broadway”
“Really good complex harmonies in the accompaniment”
“I love the songs from the Great American Songbook– and this song has some of the best lyrics I’ve heard in a long time.”
A modern-day National Anthem of sorts, “Prayer for America” honors our Nation’s amazing history, takes a critical look at the Partisan Politics that dominate civil discourse today, and ends with a way for us to move in the right direction: a return to Democratic Debate.
The song premiered on July 4th 2025 at Ave Maria Parish’s “God Bless America” Ceremony, an event put together at the last minute by teamwork, and God’s grace. It was originally going to be for a Church’s Annual Bike Parade, but it rained the morning of. Then the Church decided to have an Indoor Ceremony inside the Parish Hall, sent the word out over Facebook less than an hour beforehand — and over a hundred people showed up. They all enjoyed the Patriotic songs we sang that day, but they especially loved “Prayer for America”.
On Independence Day 2026, it was performed again for America’s 250th Birthday. (This time to a crowd of around 750 people). Again, the song was well received by the audience.
